MTSU Police to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoint May 5th

The MTSU Police Department will be conducting sobriety roadside safety checkpoints during the early morning hours of May 5th on Alumni Drive at Homecoming Circle on the MTSU campus.

Campus officers will evaluate drivers for signs of alcohol or drug impairment. Officers will target those who operate a vehicle while impaired and take actions for other violations observed while ensuring the protection of all motorists.

The MTSU Police Department recognizes that sobriety checkpoints are highly visible and effective tools in the battle against impaired driving.

The department reminds motorists that impaired driving is a serious crime that kills more than 16,000 people and injuries 305,000 others every year in the United States.
