MTSU was informed by Murfreesboro Police that David R. Chitwood died Friday morning as a result of a collision at the intersection of Middle Tennessee Boulevard and Greenland Drive on the northwest edge of campus.

MTSU’s counseling services, which are free of charge, will be available to any student who wishes to use them, particularly those students who knew David Chitwood or those who may have witnessed the tragic incident Friday morning.
