The Community Open House is part the 2-year process of developing a comprehensive plan for the City of Murfreesboro called Murfreesboro 2035: Our Future Begins Now.

The Murfreesboro 2035 Task Force will also gather Tuesday, June 21, 2016, from 6:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., to hear a presentation from consultant Kendig Keast Collaborative (KKC) on draft Chapter 4: Land Use and Character. The Task Force meeting, which is open to the public, will be conducted at The Heritage Room, 352 West Northfield, Suite B, Murfreesboro, TN 37129.

The future land use plan is a keystone piece of the overall comprehensive plan. Public input is necessary and valuable as our expectations concerning future land uses, densities, and intensities of development will pave the way for how the City prioritizes strategies and projects in the major transportation plan and the final chapter, Chapter 8 Implementation, expected to be the topic of the next Public Workshop in August 2016.

Murfreesboro 2035 is a community-wide process to plan for the next 20 years of growth and development. The final results of the two-year planning process is the City of Murfreesboro's Comprehensive Plan, a community guidebook that specifies policy, program, and project initiatives for the City. The comprehensive plan is organized in chapters according to core topics as follows:

Chapter 1, Planning Context
Chapter 2, Growth Capacity
Chapter 3, Mobility
Chapter 4, Land Use
Chapter 5, Housing and Neighborhoods
Chapter 6 Parks and Recreation
Chapter 7 Economic Development
Chapter 8 Implementation
