Murfreesboro City Council, 11-5-09
November 5, 2009
A relatively routine, yet productive night at the Murfreesboro City Council; the group voted to approve the annual Airport Maintenance Agreement, to keep our Murfreesboro Municipal Airport in perfect running order at the request of the Airport Commission, and also considered Assistant Fire Chief Farley’s suggestion to replace the roof on Fire Station No. 3 on Mercury Boulevard. Changes were made to the contract for the expansion of the Stones River Water Treatment Plant and a request was made for materials to be planted along the West Fork of the Stones River as part of stream bank restoration for the area, which was heavily impacted by the Good Friday tornadoes. The Consolidated Utility District project was explained, which will require the upsizing and relocation of several major water lines in order to accomplish the proposed realignment and reconstruction of Manson Pike, Fortress Avenue, and Gresham Lane, and the police department requested six additional patrol sergeants to supervise the separation of the departments radio frequencies as part of the transition to the new precinct in the Blackman area.
