The City of Murfreesboro's Purchasing Department has launched an online vendor registration and solicitation notification system called VendorLink. The system allows businesses to view and download solicitations at no cost, at any time, from any computer with Internet access.

To receive e-mail notifications of and access upcoming solicitations, businesses must first register online with Vendorlink by visiting the city's official website at www.murfreesborotn.gov/purchasing and clicking on the Supplier Solicitation Registration link. Once registered, businesses will receive notices on solicitations that match the commodity codes selected when registering.

Solicitations will continue to be published in local newspapers, and may also be viewed on the city's official website Purchasing Department webpage by clicking on the Active Solicitations link. The website also provides access to information on contracts, previously awarded bids and closed bids.

"This greatly enhances our communication with vendors in the community and increases our organization's productivity and effectiveness in the purchasing space," stated Murfreesboro's Purchasing Director Althea Pemsel. Vendorlink is just an example of the most recent tool that the City of Murfreesboro is using to ensure that bidding and procurement activities serve the city's needs while maintaining fair and open competition for all suppliers.

For more information regarding VendorLink, or questions regarding the city's purchasing procedures, please contact Althea Pemsel, Purchasing Director at (615) 849-2629.
