Friends along with many of the staff at NHC in Murfreesboro participated in a Celebration of Life on Friday, July 14th for Kenneth Hayes Davidson who died at the facility on March 20th. He had been a resident there for the past three years. The occasion was also recognition of his 70th birthday. His body had been donated for science.

Those participating reminisced about how he touched their lives personally and professionally. A talented, creative person with marketing skills and also as a photographer/ videographer, he was remembered for his work with the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce, Murfreesboro City Schools, The Discovery Center, the Smyrna-Rutherford County Airport Authority along with many other area projects.

Prior to becoming physically disabled from the ravages of Parkinson's disease, he was a consultant for both Corporate Flight Management in Smyrna and Chappell-Smith Insurance Services in Franklin.

A graduate of MTSU, his favorite hobby was photography capturing thousands of creative images. He also had a love and passion for aviation learning to fly before driving an automobile.

Earlier this year, he donated all his photographic body of work from several decades to his university alma mater where generations of students will benefit.

Lynn Foster, the administrator at NHC, said a portion of wall at the nursing home has a display featuring some images of his photography.

Born in Washington DC, his parents were the late W.R. and Lila Hayes Davidson. He spent most of his early life there where his father served as chief of staff to Tennessee's United States Senator Kenneth McKellar for whom he was named.

During early adulthood, he worked in Washington for Tennessee's Fourth District Congressman Joe L. Evins along with several governmental agencies. He moved to the Volunteer State in the 1980s to make a home and expand his career.
