A Murfreesboro man was allegedly seen rummaging through a Jeep by a police officer. The MPD Officer saw the man in the vehicle when he stopped at a stop sign on North Academy Street around 1 in the morning on Tuesday.

When the officer spoke to the 54 year old Charles E Lillard, he allegedly admitted to going through the Jeep in search of cash.

Police spoke to the owner of the ride who told them that she did not know Mr. Lillard. It was at that point that police learned the suspect had a warrant for his arrest after failing to appear in court. He was charged with one count of "Burglary to an Auto" and served the single outstanding warrant.

Lillard will be in court this coming January.
