A Murfreesboro man was arrested shortly after he told police he had only a small amount of marijuana in his possession.

On Tuesday, Officer Phillips was patrolling the Academy Street area when he came in contact with 23-year old John Woodard. Officer Phillips wrote in an arrest report, “When asked if Mr. Woodard had any illegal items upon his person he immediately admitted to possessing a small amount of marijuana upon his person.” Police searched Woodard and found 20-individual bags of marijuana, according to the report that was filed on Tuesday. A scale and rolling papers were also located.
