Murfreesboro Man Allegedly on Meth Arrested for Reportedly Causing Accident

An automobile accident with injuries ended with one man going to jail.

A witness claimed that 38 year old Richard DeWayne Hodge II was at fault in causing an accident on Broad Street in Murfreesboro this past Friday evening around 6:00. After the wreck, Hodge allegedly jumped out of the car and tried to hitch a ride with another motorist on nearby Medical Center Parkway. A witness at the accident scene was later taken by police to the location of where Hodge was found and positively identified him as the driver of the Honda Civic that was said to have caused the accident.

When questioned by police, Hodge reportedly admitted to drinking alcohol and taking ICE, otherwise known as methamphetamine or meth.

Hodge, who lives in Bradyville, was charged with his second DUI, Driving on a Revoked License for the 4th time, Leaving the Scene of an Accident and Refusal of the Implied Consent Law. He was booked under a $6,500 bond and scheduled to appear in court on May 10, 2016.

As of Monday, Hodge is still behind bars in the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center.
