A Murfreesboro man who murdered a Lascassas resident is facing up to 25 years in prison.

61 Year old Dewey Abbott III killed 40 year old Jesse Sliepenbeek in 2015. The murder unfolded in Abbott's Kings Crossing Apartment (1710 E. Northfield Blvd. - apartment Q-5).

The sentencing was originally scheduled to be held in February. However, the date has been moved to April 21, 2017. The sentencing will be in the courtroom of Judge David Bragg.

Abbott shot and killed Slipenbeek in July of 2015.
