A 53 year old woman in Murfreesboro has been charged with the attempted murder of her roommate. Cassandra Payne was arrested early Thursday morning after allegedly stabbing 51 year old David Brown multiple times. The incident happened at College Point Apartments.

Brown and Payne got into a verbal altercation after Payne left the apartment for two days without telling Brown where she had been. The domestic violence report shows that Payne told Brown "You ain't my -blank- daddy."

While allegedly stabbing the victim with a kitchen knife and later a pair of scissors, Payne reportedly stated, "I hope this kills you," according to the police report. The woman is also accused of throwing a glass ashtray at Brown.
Payne was arrested about an hour after the incident occurred after fleeing the scene. She is being held in the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center under a $100,000 bond.
The victim was transported to the hospital with multiple injuries. The man had stab wounds or cuts to his arm, chest and head.
