NASHVILLE: Murder and prostitution

August 20, 2008

Story 1 out of Nashville for Wednesday:

Metro’s West Precinct detectives continue to investigate Sunday morning’s shooting death of Michael Antwan Wilson inside a home on Mercomatic Drive as a justifiable homicide.

The investigation to this point shows that Wilson, age 24, who was armed with a pistol, kicked in the front door of the residence in what detectives believe was part of a robbery plan.  Homeowner Jeffrey Ham, age 42, retrieved a gun and exchanged shots with Wilson.  Wilson was fatally wounded and died at the scene.

So far, it looks as if no criminal charges will be filed.

Story 2 out of Nashville for Wednesday:

In response to business complaints about prostitution in Nashville’s North 1st Street area, Metro’s Central Precinct undercover detectives conducted a reverse sting at a hotel Friday.  The men agreed to pay for sex acts with a woman who advertised on Craigslist.

James O’Kelley, 34, of Bethpage, Tennessee, Josh Johnson, 27, of Union City, Tennessee, and James Bruce, 45, of Waverly, Tennessee, each received State Citations for patronizing prostitution.

Detectives also conducted a street level operation which netted four arrests.

Rachael Roath, 35, of Plus Park Boulevard, Donna Carter, 46, of Joelton, Brandy Pratt, 31, of Lebanon, and Brenda Peterman, 38, of Spring Street, were all charged with prostitution.
