An intense and enduring weather system will put middle Tennessee under the gun for severe weather three days in a row starting Sunday evening. Though much of the severe weather is expected West of I-65 Sunday night, some of it might move into Rutherford county.
Robert Rickman has the story...
Ongoing storms may move into the area Sunday evening. These storms will carry the potential for damaging straight line winds and large hail and they could persist through midnight and into the early morning on Monday.
By Monday afternoon...there may be another outbreak of severe weather. across middle Tennessee. Supercell thunderstorms capable of producing damaging straight line winds...large hail and tornadoes will be possible. Storms could dump 2 to 3 inches of rain in a short period of time which might cause flash floods.. These threats could last into the late evening hours on Monday.
On Tuesday...the same weather system may provide an opportunity for a third straight day of severe weather.
The time to prepare for severe weather is now. Check your NOAA Weather Radio for fresh batteries and have a plan in place for you and your family to follow if you come under a tornado or Severe Thunderstorm Warning at some point Sunday...Monday or Tuesday.
