New County Judicial Building Being Studied

With the county's Property Management Committee approving last week a report recommending a new judicial building, a new facility could be one step closer. The committee will look over the recommendations of the report and decide next month whether to move to the design phase. This process alone will cost about four-million dollars and estimates to build the facility are around 72-million. Some county leaders believe the facility is needed to keep up with the projected growth of the area. The report was prepared by Justice Planning Associates. If the Property Management Committee approves moving forward with the design phase next month, it will be December before the county's Budget Committee will see the proposal and later in December before being debated by the full county commission.
