The school year is officially underway and with that being said, a school rich in history now has a new captain at the helm. Rutherford County Schools have hired Sherry King to lead the Campus School in Murfreesboro.

On August 6th students, parents, faculty and staff of Homer Pittard Campus School welcomed the new principal during a picnic on school grounds. King, an MTSU alumna, takes control this year of the longtime teaching school that sits on the western edge of the MTSU campus off Lytle Street. It is owned by Middle Tennessee State University and operated by Rutherford County Schools. 

King replaces former principal Chontel Bridgeman who is now serving two schools with the title of assistant principal at Barfield Elementary School and Blackman Elementary School.
