With 5 to 8 years estimated as the remaining life of the Walter Hill landfill, Rutherford County Mayor Bill Ketron is moving ahead in search of a solution. A trip to Sevierville, Tennessee to study how composting has resolved their similar problem has brought phone calls from Republic. They currently operate the landfill on a "for profit" basis and accept waste from distant places as well as Rutherford County. They have a meeting with Ketron today in Murfreesboro.
