Noon Exchange Club seeking scholarship applicants

The Noon Exchange Club of Murfreesboro is seeking high school senior applicants for their scholarship program; Youth of the Month/Youth of the Year award. These students also will be eligible to receive a Youth of The Year scholarship.

To qualify for Youth of the Month/Year, applicants must live in Rutherford or Cannon Counties and attend a high school in Rutherford or Cannon County or be Home Schooled in Rutherford or Cannon County.

From those receiving a Youth of the Month award, one student will be chosen as the Noon Exchange Club of Murfreesboro TN Youth of the Year. The local Youth of the Year will receive a scholarship and have the opportunity to compete at the Tennessee District and National Exchange Club level, possibly receiving a $10,000 scholarship in July, 2017 at the National Exchange Club Convention in Jacksonville, FL ( must be able to attend presentation at Convention ).

Qualifying students must be able to demonstrate excellence in leadership, community service, and academics. Additionally, students must write two essays -- one entitled "Inspiring a Community to Become a Better Place" (800 to 1,200 words) and another short essay (200 words) on what the applicant believes is his/her most outstanding achievement. The National Exchange Club Youth of the Year form must be signed by the high school counselor and a parent / guardian.

Winners will be honored along with their parents and siblings at the May 4th meeting of The Noon Exchange Club of Murfreesboro at Five Senses Restaurant at Noon to 1:00 PM.
