Another classic region battle between Blackman and Oakland. NewsRadio WGNS' Bryan Barrett has more from Ray Hughes Stadium...

Monte Hale, Jr. spoke to Oakland coach Kevin Creasy after the game...

VERBATIM:
If you like defensive games, you would have loved the battle between the Patriots and Blaze. With Blackman driving, down 14-7 and 1:08 to go, facing third and 10 from the Oakland 30-yard line, this happened...

JaCoby Stevens not only had that pick six, but had another interception...two of three for Blaze quarterback Miller Armstrong on the night. Stevens also scored a 35-yard touchdown on a run from the wildcat formation.

Blackman's lone score was on a muffed punt recovered in the endzone by Donnel Bailey in the first quarter. It was 7-to-7 at the half and Oakland's Dexter Hurd scored on a one yard plunge in the first two minutes of the third quarter to go up by a touchdown.

Oakland improves to 3-and-1 and 2-and-0 in region play. Blackman falls to 3-and-2 and are now 1-and-1 in region play.

Next week, the broadcast crew will be at Smyrna for the Bulldogs' battle with Siegel.
