A Murfreesboro Police officer on patrol in the Greenland Drive area smelled burnt marijuana. It wasn't long afterward that 39-year old Bruce Stratton, Jr., of Karly Court in Murfreesboro was arrested.

Officer Jacob Lamb reports he could smell the illegal drug just after 3 Tuesday morning when he made contact with Stratton in the driver's seat of a vehicle. When the officer asked if there were any illegal drugs inside, Stratton reportedly said there was marijuana and cocaine in the vehicle.

A database check revealed two outstanding warrants for his arrest. Stratton was booked on the additional drug charges and jailed on a 15-thousand dollar bond.

Two other occupants in the car were issued misdemeanor citations for possession.
