One Intersection in Smyrna and a Railroad Intersection in Murfreesboro to be Closed This Week

Traffic Light Work in Smyrna on Tuesday:

On Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at approximately 9:00am, Middle Tennessee Electric will be working on the traffic signal at the intersection of Lowry Street and Washington Street in Smyrna. Smyrna Police will have officers stationed at that intersection during the shutdown. Smyrna Police Chief Kevin Arnold told WGNS in an email, “We are hopeful that the work will be completed in one hour. We ask that all motorists take caution when approaching this intersection and to plan for an alternative route if they can.”

CSX Road Work in Murfreesboro on Wednesday:

WGNS has confirmed that the CSX railroad crossing on Middle Tennessee Boulevard near the South Church Street intersection will be closed on Wednesday. You may recall, the same intersection was closed at least one day last week as while CSX crews worked on that crossing. More work is needed this week.CSX told the City of Murfreesboro that the closing is for “further rehabilitation of the railroad tracks.”

The CSX crossing will be closed from 8am to 6pm on Wednesday.
