A 22-year old woman in Murfreesboro was arrested and charged with filing a false report after allegedly being involved in an accident this past weekend and blaming the wreck on a car that may have never existed. Heather Vandyne reportedly told police that she wrecked on Medical Center Parkway at Broad Street after a Cadillac struck her Hyundai and fled the scene. The female said the wreck occurred after she left a bar. She was complaining of back pain when MPD arrived on the scene, according to the report.

After a brief investigation, it was determined that Vandyne may have been drinking and possibly made up the story when two witnesses say they saw the wreck and stated there were no other vehicles involved in the accident. Officers say the woman was transported to the local hospital to be treated for the back and neck pain where it is believed she accidently dropped a small pill that officers believe was in her possession. Hospital staff confirmed the pill did not come from them, and she was charged with possession of a schedule four drug. In addition to the minor drug infraction, she was also charged with DUI and filing a false report. She will appear in court on August 6, 2013.
