Parking Lot MVA Leads to Arrest

Two Murfreesboro woman are in jail on alcohol related charges after police were called to the parking lot of Fifth Third Bank on South Rutherford Boulevard in reference to a motor vehicle accident.

They were called there just before 4 o'clock in the morning on Saturday. Officer Edward Brown reports smelling "an odor of intoxicant" coming from the driver, 22-year old Kamashia Jones of East Main Street. She told the officer she'd been drinking earlier in the night at an area night club. She was arrested for DUI after failing field sobriety tests.

Passenger, 20-year old Ariel Matthews of North Tennessee Boulevard, was the owner of the vehicle. A search by Officer Brown revealed a fake I-D with a different name. Matthews faces charges of underage consumption, possession of a fake I-D and DUI by allowance.

Both women will be in court September 1st to answer to the charges.
