A short vehicle pursuit in Murfreesboro involving a pink 1987 Chevrolet Caprice ended a couple of minutes after police called off the pursuit. The car in question actually ran into a small tree on Hazelwood Street at the entrance of Ashwood Cove Apartments Monday evening around 5:30. The accident did not occur during the pursuit, but after authorities called it off.

As police pulled up to the accident scene, a black male was seen getting out of the pink ride and running between apartment buildings. The subject got away so police ran the tag. The plate came back to a different car. That was when police ran the VIN number. A witness on the scene told officers the person who ran was someone different from who the VIN number returned to.
