A pit bull dog got loose this past weekend and attacked a man in his own yard. The incident occurred on Rochester Street. The victim told police that he was in his yard when a pit bull dog approached his young child. The man grabbed the pit bull to get it away from his child and the dog bit him in the leg, breaking the skin. A short time later, a man and a woman pulled up to the home and took custody of the dog telling the victim that the dog accidently got loose.
Police made contact with the owner of the dog and made sure the dog was up to date on its shots. The Pet Adoption and Welfare Services office was then contacted and made aware of the incident.
No arrests were made.
