A group that aims to reduce crime in schools is participating in a special program at Stewartsboro Elementary in Smyrna on Wednesday. Mark Rogers with “Fight Crime, Invest in Kids,” told us that Smyrna Police Chief Kevin Arnold will meet with children on Wednesday morning at 9.

Chief Arnold will read a book to students entitled “Officer Buckle and Gloria” by Peggy Rathmann. Rogers is the state director of Fight Crime Invest in Kids. He told us that his group helps to ensure that children have a better start in life.

The Wednesday morning event at Stewartsboro Elementary is open to parents of children at the Smyrna school. The program will start at 9-AM.
