There have been a rash of car burglaries in the last month in La Vergne and police are warning residents to lock their vehicles. Since November, police report 15 cars have been broken into. While the majority of the break-ins occur at night, there have also been some morning burglaries.
Items stolen include GPS devices, cell phones, laptop computers, loose change, phone chargers, and other miscellaneous items.
“We urge residents to lock their doors anytime they are away from their car,” said La Vergne Officer Scott Hudgens. “You should also remove all your valuables from your vehicle, or at least place them out of sight. We don’t want a Grinch to steal your Christmas.”
Vehicle break-in’s have also been a problem in Murfreesboro. Multiple cars and trucks have been burglarized in recent weeks. Like La Vergne, the hot items for thieves seems to be GPS units, loose change, computers, iPhones and more.
As far as solving the crimes, no arrests have been made in connection with the recent rash of burglaries.
