Smith stated, "Through regular meetings, visits at the schools, and professional development, I believe I have grown during my short time on the Board, and treasure the opportunity to continue learning and helping the System move forward. Complete Statement

“As of today I have submitted paperwork to be placed on April’s ballot for election to the Murfreesboro City Schools Board of Education.

Since joining the City Schools Board in September 2011, I have worked diligently to serve the children of Murfreesboro, as well as their teachers, parents and taxpayers.  As an active parent of children in the school system and in the community, I offer an informed voice and add value to the diverse backgrounds represented on the current City Schools’ Board.

Through regular meetings, visits at the schools, and professional development, I believe I have grown during my short time on the Board, and treasure the opportunity to continue learning and helping the System move forward.  Murfreesboro City Schools’ excellence is recognized both at the state and national levels and I hope to be a part of our progress in preparing all children for success in the global community while offering a rewarding experience for our most valuable public servants, our teachers.”
