Earlier this week, The National Rifle Association (NRA) posted their candidate ratings for the Tennessee House of Representatives. In the race for House District 49, State Representative Mike Sparks (R–Smyrna) received an A rating and the endorsement of the pro-Second Amendment organization. According to a release from the NRA, Representative Sparks is their choice in the upcoming August 7th Republican primary.

Since being elected to office in 2010, Sparks has hosted four Second Amendment rallies, called Freedom Fest, in Rutherford County. The vision for Freedom Fest was formed to remind citizens from all walks of life the importance of embracing our country’s right to bear arms.

“I truly appreciate the support of the National Rifle Association,” said Representative Sparks. “It has been an honor to fight for gun rights over the last several years and I always enjoy the hundreds of people who attend our Freedom Fest rallies. Without a doubt, the people of our community hold dear our country’s freedoms and our Second Amendment rights.”
