Population Exploding in Rutherford County

Rutherford County is a leading area for growth in Tennessee. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, areas surrounding Nashville have the fastest growth rates in the state.

The local population has grown by over 73-hundred residents between 2015 and 2016. Of that, 41-hundred were births. Rutherford County, along with others in metro statistical areas grew at the highest rates across the state.

In addition to Rutherford, Williamson, Wilson, Maury, Trousdale and Dickson Counties grew at a rate of between one and three percent, which significantly outpaced the state and national average.

Tennessee's population grew to six-point-six-five million, that's up point-nine percent. The state's average population has outpaced the national average for the past several years.
