Presbyterian Minister Ernie Newsom combines his musical talents with military experiences in order to help those in unique situations.

The Memphis native served in the US Army, and after his tour of duty decided to become a chaplain with the Navy. Most of that was with the Marines. Ernie's love for music has opened doors throughout his life. A mix of music and his ministry work has helped him build a home for the Sudanese refugees who now call Middle Tennessee their home.

Ernie shares that heartwarming story, as well as how Murfreesboro is where he grew his family and the impact the Heart of Tennessee has had on all of them.
