Ram's Fearless Road Forecast Through Nov. 12th

The crisp fall air is great for football, beautiful leaves and leaving window open, but it's a warning to construction crews that their prime work season is nearing an end. Murfreesboro Traffic Engineer Ram Balachandran warns of congested areas to avoid where crews are ramping-up to finish projects now through November 12th.

Bridge over Broad Street TDOT Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: There will be alternating lane closures on NW Broad Street, Memorial Blvd, Old Fort Pkwy and Ridgley Road for construction of the new Overpass. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times. Broadmor Blvd is closed to through traffic for construction work. W Lytle Street at Broad St is again opened to traffic: right-in and right-out movements only. Eastbound and Westbound traffic has be shifted to the south side near the newly constructed ramps. Northbound and Southbound traffic on Broad St has been shifted all the way to the east side onto new pavement. Appropriate traffic controls are be in place.

W Lytle Street Roadway Improvement Project (Baker St to Church St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: W Lytle Street will be closed to through traffic between Walnut St and Maple St for construction work. N Maple St between College St and Burton St and W Lytle St between N Maple St and N Walnut St will be closed to through traffic until January 6, 2017. Access to local businesses will be kept open at all times. Message boards and appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Rutherford County Judicial Center Project (between Burton St and Lytle St)

Expected Lane Closures: Wednesday, July 20, 2016 - Friday, March 31, 2017: As part of the Rutherford County Judicial Center construction, Burton St between Maple St and Church St will be closed to traffic to make roadway improvements. Burton St traffic will be detoured onto Lytle St. There will be traffic interruptions and minor lane closures at the intersection of Maple St and Burton for steel and equipment deliveries. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

Middle Tennessee Widening Project (Greenland Dr to E Main St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: Traffic on Middle Tennessee Blvd has been shifted to the east side and reduced to two-lanes two-way between E Main St and Greenland Dr. E Lytle St is closed at Middle Tennessee Blvd. The section of E Lytle St between N Bilbro Ave and Middle Tennessee Blvd is only open to local traffic. Utility crossing work will be done at the intersection of Middle Tennessee Blvd and Greenland Dr Sunday - Thursday between 8 pm and 6 am. Appropriate traffic control signs and message boards will be in place.

Sewer Pump Station Project (NW Broad St at Battlefield Pkwy)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 6:00 am to 5 pm: Contractor for Water & Sewer Department will be installing sewer lines within TDOT right-of-way/Battlefield Pkwy. A small section of Battlefield Pkwy is closed. Underground bore work continues. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

AT&T Underground Fiber Installation Work (E Northfield Blvd between Empress Dr and Deerwood Ave)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, Weather Permitting, 9:00 am to 2:30 pm: AT&T crews will be installing underground fiber lines on E Northfield Blvd between Empress Dr and Deerwood Ave. There will be no lane closures. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Red Light Camera Installation Work

1) S Church St at NNW Broad St

2) Old Fort Pkwy at Thompson Ln

3) Memorial Blvd at Northfield Blvd

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 2:30 pm: Red Light camera installation work continues. There will be minor lane closures and minimal traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Annual City Street Paving Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:00 PM: City paving contractor will be raising castings, milling and paving the following streets:

Lazarus Dr, Garcia Blvd, Piccadilly Dr, Schroer Dr, Smitty Dr, Cason Lane at Cason Trail, Kings Hwy between Old Fort Pkwy and Bridge Ave and Battlefield Pkwy off NW Broad St.
