Traffic Engineer Ram Balachandran knows construction crews are putting the pedal to the metal in order to wrap-up projects. Here are potential traffic jams in the 'Boro now through September 20th.

Joe B Jackson Pkwy Construction Project (I-24 and S Church Street)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: 8:30 am to 4:00 pm: Storm drain, sidewalk, driveway ramp, curb inlet and box culvert work continues along Joe B Jackson Pkwy between Stevens Bend Road and S Church Street. There will be incidental lane closures traffic interruptions for stone and concrete deliveries between 7 am and 8 am. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

Veterans Pkwy aka Kimbro Road Widening Project (Barfield Road to Saint Andrews Drive)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: 6:30 am to 4:30 pm: Placing base stone material on the south side of Veterans Pkwy out of traffic area. Utility pole installations, storm drain, curb and gutter work continues between Yeargan Rd and Cason Lane. There will be incidental lane closures and traffic interruptions (trucks entering and exiting the job site). Monday through Thursday, Cason Lane will be closed at Veterans Pkwy for roadway alignment work. Traffic on Veterans will be shifted to the south side. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Memorial Blvd Walmart Project (just north of Airport Road)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: The Traffic Signal Contractor for the project will be installing traffic signal equipment on Memorial Blvd. There will be alternating lane closures northbound and southbound on Memorial Blvd at Airport Road. Traffic on Airport Road is shifted to the south side and the contractor will be working on the north side. Right turning lane work continues along Memorial Blvd. On Saturday, September 13, 8:00 am to Noon, the contractor for Walmart will be paving the right turn lanes. Northbound lanes will be reduced to one lane during the paving operation. Southbound lanes will not be affected. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

Bridge over Broad Street TDOT Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 5:00 am: There will be alternating lane closures on NW Broad Street, Ridgley Road and W College Street for underground utility crossings. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. Broadmor Blvd is closed to traffic at Memorial Blvd for utility crossing construction work. Broadmor Blvd can still be accessed from NW Broad Street. W Lytle Street is also closed to traffic at NW Broad Street for construction work. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Innsbrooke Blvd Turn Lane Improvement Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: The contractor for Kroger Development will be installing pavement markings on Innsbrooke Blvd at S Church Street. There will be lane restrictions and traffic interruptions during this operation. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

Ewing Blvd Sewer Force Main Project (between Crossway Ave and East Street)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: Contractor for Water &Sewer Department will be installing force sewer main lines on Ewing Blvd between Crossway Ave and East Street. Ewing Blvd will be closed to through traffic. Local residents will have access at all times. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

Central Valley Road CUD Water Line Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: Contractor for CUD will be installing a water line across Central Valley Road just north of the intersection of Swamp Leanna Road/Central Valley Road and Ticonderoga Ave. There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.
