Summer's back in the city, and Traffic Engineer Ram Balachandran warns motorists of potential "hot spots" now through June 10th.

Bridge over Broad Street TDOT Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 pm to 6:00 am: There will be alternating lane closures on NW Broad Street, Memorial Blvd, Old Fort Pkwy and Ridgley Road for construction of the new Overpass. There will be lane shifts and traffic interruptions. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times. Broadmor Blvd is closed to through traffic for construction work. W Lytle Street at Broad St is opened to traffic and is restricted to right-in and right-out movements only. Westbound traffic has been shifted to the north side to align with the newly constructed ramp. On Broad St, the northbound and southbound left turn movements can only be made during a protected turn signal phase. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

W Lytle Street Roadway Improvement Project (Baker St to Church St

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: W Lytle Street will be closed to through traffic between Walnut St and Maple St for construction work. N Maple St between College St and Burton St and W Lytle St between N Maple St and N Walnut St will be closed to through traffic until end of June, 2017. Access driveways to local businesses will be kept open. Starting Wednesday, April 26 through Friday, June 2, the intersection of N Walnut St and W Lytle St will be closed for storm drain installation work. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Rutherford County Judicial Center Project (between Burton St and Lytle St)

Expected Lane Closures: Wednesday, July 20, 2016 - June 30, 2017: As part of the Rutherford County Judicial Center construction, Burton St between Maple St and Church St will be closed to traffic to make roadway improvements. Burton St traffic will be detoured onto College St. Monday through Friday, N Church St will be closed just south of Burton St. Traffic on N Church St will be detoured on Burton St, Spring St and Lytle St. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.

Middle Tennessee Widening Project (Greenland Dr to E Main St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: Traffic on Middle Tennessee Blvd has been shifted to the east side and reduced to two-lanes two-way between E Main St and Greenland Dr. E Lytle St is closed at Middle Tennessee Blvd. The section of E Lytle St between N Bilbro Ave and Middle Tennessee Blvd is only open to local traffic. Appropriate traffic control signs and message boards will be in place.

W Lytle Street Roadway Improvement Project (Baker St to Church St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: W Lytle Street will be closed to through traffic between Walnut St and Maple St for construction work. N Maple St between College St and Burton St and W Lytle St between N Maple St and N Walnut St will be closed to through traffic until end of June, 2017. Access driveways to local businesses will be kept open. Starting Wednesday, April 26 through Tuesday, June 6, the intersection of N Walnut St and W Lytle St will be closed for storm drain installation work. Monday, June 5, the traffic on N Church St will be reduced to one lane flagging operation at Burton St. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Maple St Alley Improvement Project (between W Main St and W Vine St)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: The Maple St Alley will be closed to through traffic between W Main St and W Vine St for construction work. Deliveries to local businesses will be from Walnut St, W Vine St and Public Square. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

City Sewer Tie-In Work (NW Broad St at Florence Station Market)

Expected Lane Closures: Wednesday through Friday: Contractor for a private development on NW Broad St just south of Florence Rd will be installing sewer line and tie-in to City Sewer System. The shoulder on NW Broad St just south of Florence Rd will be closure. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

CUD Water Line Installation Work (Warmingfield Dr at Manchester Pike)

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday: Contractor for CUD will be installing water line along Warmingfield Dr just west of Manchester Pike. Traffic on Warmingfield Dr will be reduced to one-lane flagging operation. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

City Urban Environmental Department Mulching and Landscaping Work

1) Medical Center Pkwy between Warren St and I-24

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Wednesday, Weather Permitting, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Contractor for City Urban Environmental will be mulching along Medical Center Pkwy between Warren St and I-24. Traffic will be reduced to a moving one lane operation westbound on Medical Center Pkwy between Warren St and Thompson Ln. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

2) Middle Tennessee Blvd between Main St and Mercury Blvd

Expected Lane Closures: Thursday, Weather Permitting, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Contractor for City Urban Environmental will be mulching along Middle Tennessee Blvd between Main St and Mercury Blvd. Traffic will be reduced to a moving one lane operation southbound on Middle Tennessee Blvd between Main St and Mercury Blvd. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

3) E Main St between Highland Ave and University Ave

Expected Lane Closures: Thursday, Weather Permitting, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Contractor for City Urban Environmental will be mulching along Middle Tennessee Blvd between Main St and Mercury Blvd. Traffic will be reduced to a moving one lane operation southbound on Middle Tennessee Blvd between Main St and Mercury Blvd. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

Roadway Improvement Project (Blaze Dr between Brinkley Rd and Stover Glen)

Expected Road Closures: Monday through Friday: Contractor for City of Murfreesboro will be making roadway improvements on Blaze Dr between Brinkley Rd and Stovers Glen. Appropriate detours and traffic controls will be in place.

Roadway Repair Project (Northfield Blvd at Edinburgh Ln)

Expected Road Closures: Monday through Friday: Contractor for AT&T will be making roadway repairs on E Northfield Blvd at Edinburgh Ln. Westbound traffic on E Northfield Blvd at Edinburgh Ln will be reduced to one lane flagging operation and then the eastbound traffic will be reduced to one lane operation to complete the roadway repairs. Appropriate detours and traffic controls will be in place.

TDOT Roadway Improvements and Signalization Project (Manchester Pike at Dalton Mankin Rd)
Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 3:00 pm: Contractor for TDOT will be making roadway and signalization improvements on Manchester Pike at Dalton Mankin Rd. There will be minor lane traffic shifts and traffic interruptions on Manchester Pike. Appropriate traffic controls will be in place.

TDOT Resurfacing I-24 from east of the CSX Railroad bridge (L.M. 19.07) to east of Epps Mill Road (L.M. 26.55) (Rutherford County)

Thursday June 1 through Wednesday June 7, 8PM 5AM: There will be alternating lane closures on I-24 Eastbound and Westbound from east of bridge over CSX Railroad (LM 19.07) to east of Epps Mill Road (LM 26.55) for paving operations. One lane will remain open in each direction.

Two (2) Tennessee Highway Patrol Troopers are requested to be onsite beginning Thursday June 1 through Wednesday June 7, 8PM at 5AM, for cold planning(milling) operations at the locations listed above.

Annual City Street Paving Project

Expected Lane Closures: Monday through Friday, 8:00 PM - 5:00 AM: City paving contractor will be milling and paving the following street:

1) E Clark Blvd between Dudley St and N Tennessee Blvd.

There will be lane closures and traffic interruptions. Appropriate traffic controls will be in-place.
