With the landfill nearing capacity, Recycle Rutherford is creating ways to bring positive attention to area businesses that go the extra mile to reduce waste. They will be presenting THE SPIRIT OF RECYCLING AWARD, and all sizes of local businesses in Rutherford County are eligible.

Recycle Rutherford's Glenn Himbaugh noted "One important factor to be considered is the amount of trash diverted from our local landfill, which continues to move toward its maximum capacity."

The awards will be presented at Recycle Rutherford's meeting on Monday, June 18th, at Carriage Lane Inn. That coincides with National Garbage Man Week.
