The 5th Annual Special Kids Race announced Tuesday that registration is 88% percent full for the 15K, 5K, and 1 Mile on Saturday, March 19, at Murfreesboro Medical Clinic (MMC).
Organizers are expecting over 3,000 participants in this community race to support local nonprofit, Special Kids Therapy & Nursing Center. Online registration is offered through Friday, March 18, and event day registration will be available on March 19 for an additional $5 late fee.
The 2016 Special Kids Race will be held in memory of Quinton Young, a child who attended Special Kids for 10 years. Young recently passed away on February 29 due to his having hydrocephalus since birth. To honor and celebrate Young's life, race organizers will be dedicating this year's event to this special child who touched many in the local community.
Race fees are $45 for the 15K, $40 for the 5K, and $20 for the 1 Mile Fun Run. Registration is open online at specialkidsrace.org.
Beyond entrance in the event, race participants receive a soft-style t-shirt, race medal, and baseball cap from presenting sponsor MMC. For the fifth year, all race expenses are covered by sponsors, allowing funds from registration fees to directly benefit children with special needs at Special Kids.

Special Kids is a Christian therapy and nursing center for children with special needs.
