About nine years ago 7-year old James Lee Harper III was killed by his mother Rachel Kline Summers in Christiana, Tennessee in January of 2006. A year later in April of 2007, the family of James gathered at his grave site to hold a final goodbye ceremony for the young man. That was exactly 6-years ago today.
Prior to that final event to remember James, his grandmother, Janet Pursley told us…
The step father of James is Edward Summers and the courts say he had a hand in the murder of his stepson. After the murder he entered a best interest plea to facilitation of murder and will be eligible for parole in October of this year (2013).
As far as James’ mother goes, Rachel Summers was sentenced to life in prison after being charged with the murder of her son. Summers allegedly poisoned her son with poison she had purchased at the Kroger Store in the Barfield Community.
