Since its beginnings in 1949, the Blackman Barbecue has grown larger each year.

In 2012, the event was moved to the Lane Agri Park at 315 John R. Rice Boulevard, because it had overgrown its old home. Another plus of using the farmer's market site is that inclement weather is taken out of the equation. If it's raining, the event is inside. When it's a mild evening, the doors that make-up the walls are opened and nature's breeze flows over the crowd. On hot, steamy nights, the doors are closed and the air conditioner is cranked-up to a pleasant temperature.

The 66th Annual Blackman Barbecue will be 5:00 to 8:00 on the evening of Friday, June 26, 2015 at the Lane Agri-Park.
