It was a race to the wire for a Rutherford County Road Board seat. Doug Bodary defeated incumbent Randal "Bubba" Jones by just 39 votes. Bodary had 1,635 votes to Jones' 1,596.

Michael Anderson was unopposed for the Zone 6 seat as was Paul Johnson in Zone 6. Also re-elected was county Road Superintendent Greg Brooks, who didn't face a Democratic challenger in the general election and won re-election.
