Rubber Duck Derby "Auction Items" Announced

Bid on auction items at the Child Advocacy Center Derby Party and help raise funds to assist child abuse victims in Rutherford and Cannon Counties.

Queen of the Quackers Coreen King said, “The Child Advocacy Center is excited to announce that there will be five weekend trips to bid on at the Derby Party.  There are trips to Gatlinburg, Memphis, Chattanooga, Beau Rivage Resort and Casino in Biloxi, MS, and Sam’s Town Casino in Robinsonville, MS.”

Included with the trips are hotel accommodations and tickets to attractions.  The Gatlinburg Getaway includes weekend accommodations at the Clarion Inn and Suites and tickets to Dollywood, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, Amazing Mirror Max and Firehouse Golf, Circus Golf, Fort Fun Family Entertainment Center, Gatlinburg Sky Lift, Old Gatlinburg Golf and Games, SKI Ober Gatlinburg Aerial Tramway, Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre, Venturer Motion Ride Movie Theater, Cooter’s in the Smokies, and an autographed photograph of Cooter.

“The Child Advocacy Center is grateful to the local businesses that have been generous to the Derby Party and Auction.  We have fabulous auction items from the Cannon County Chamber of Commerce, Del Monaco Winery and Vineyards, L&T Photography, Let’s Make Wine, Mill’s Family Pharmacy, Painting with a Twist, Reeves Sain, Shacklett’s Photography, and a Kix Brooks autographed bottle of wine from Arrington Vineyards, “ Child Advocacy Center Director Sharon De Boer stated.

The Derby Party and Auction will be held on May 3, 2014 from 2 p.m. until the horses’ race. 5 Senses Restaurant will be filled inside and out with a derby style party, complete with entertainment, dancing, our signature derby drink the “Duck Julep,” and hors d’oeuvres.  At 5:24 p.m., guests will have an opportunity to view the Kentucky Derby.

Funds raised from the Derby Party will support child abuse services for Rutherford and Cannon County children and the Darkness to Light trainings to educate parents, grandparents, and professionals how to protect children from child sexual abuse.
