The state Corrections Institute Board of Control unanimously voted to decertify the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. The vote came Wednesday in Nashville.

The decertification is the latest trouble to hit the local sheriff's office. Several failed inspections led to the decertification, which will likely prompt inmate lawsuits against the lockup.
