Rutherford County residents are invited to join a coalition of grassroots political organizations and the Rutherford County Republican Party for a series of republican candidate forums.  The forums will begin on Monday, March 24th and take place over the next few months leading up to the Murfreesboro City Election, Rutherford County General Election and the State and Federal Elections.

The series of forums are designed to provide an opportunity for citizens to make informed decisions when voting.  "We hope to provide the voters of Rutherford County with a means of getting to know the Republican candidates for each office.  Each candidate is interviewing for a job and we, as voters, are their employers...this is their job interview," said Katherine Hudgins who is organizing the events.

The organizations teaming up for the series of forums are the Rutherford County GOP, 9/12 Project of Rutherford County, Rutherford County Tea Party, Rutherford County Campaign for Liberty,  Rutherford/Cannon County Firearms Association, Act-Rutherford County Chapter, Textbook Advocates, and Teen Eagles Murfreesboro Chapter.

The forums will be held at Three Brothers' Restaurant which is located on the square at 114 N. Church Street in Murfreesboro from 7-9p.

Rutherford County Democratic Party:

As far as the Rutherford County Democratic Party goes, their website ( shows a blank calendar. The site does however state, "The next election cycle of 2014 will be one of the biggest elections that we have had in a number of years." Their FaceBook page was last updated in 2013.
