WGNS has confirmed that the Rutherford County School system will close two hours early due to bad weather. Murfreesboro City Schools now confirm they too will close two hours early.

Buses in the county will run two hours early and parents of students who do not ride the bus should arrive at school two hours before usual pick up time to pick up their children today (Monday).

From county schools spokesperson James Evans

Rutherford County Schools will be dismissing two hours early today, Monday, April 28, to ensure all buses can complete their routes before the severe weather hits our area. Two hours early means the last bell time will be moved back two hours. So if your school normally dismisses at 2:30 p.m., for example, your school will dismiss at 12:30 p.m. today

Message from City Schools spokesperson Lisa Trail:

Due to the severe weather expected early this afternoon, Murfreesboro City Schools will dismiss two hours early.  ESP will remain open until 6 p.m.  TCAP testing will be delayed until Wednesday.
