All Rutherford County Schools are CLOSED today (Tuesday, 11/7/2017), because of severe flooding and road closures in parts of the county, including LaVergne and Lascassas.

The weather service reports that approximately seven inches of rain fell over night, and storms continue. A cold front is moving into this area with temperatures dropping from their current mid 60s, down into the upper 40s this morning. As that occurs, the rain will begin to move out.

County Schools Report: IMPORTANT UPDATE

"Rutherford County Schools will be closed today, Nov. 7, 2017, because of several impassable roads in LaVergne, Walter Hill, Lascassas and other areas. Again, all Rutherford County schools will be closed today, Nov. 7, because of flooding conditions affecting multiple roads."

SHELTER: La Vergne Flood Victims

Rachel Heggen, spokesperson for the City of La Vergne, told WGNS, "Our Public Works department is busy this morning dealing with flooded areas in La Vergne. Multiple roads have been closed off until flooding recedes. Anyone who may be temporarily displaced can go to the city's multipurpose building located next to La Vergne Police station on Murfreesboro Road."
