Rutherford County Ties for #3

According to the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Rutherford County remains third in the state for having the fewest number of persons without jobs.

The top two leaders are are only slightly better, and are adjacent counties. Williamson County remains the lowest with 3 per cent unemployment, and Davidson County is second with 3.1 per cent.

The third place ranking is 3.3 per cent, and Rutherford County ties that position with Cheatham, Sevier, Sumner and Wilson.

Fourth place was earned by Dickson County with 3.5 per cent.

Fifth place was tied by Knox and Robertson Counties, each with 3.6 per cent.

State Labor and Workforce Commissioner Burns Phillips reports, "June increases in county unemployment rates have consistently been experienced since Tennessee started keeping records in 1976."
