S. Highland Ave. Burglary; Over $19K Stolen

A South Highland Avenue woman is out of over 19-thousand dollars worth of jewelry and cash after being burglarized. Murfreesboro Police Officer Joshua Borel reports the 47-year old victim noticed a window in the back of the home had been pryed open Monday night around 11pm. After noticing her computer monitor, keyboard and mouse on the washing machine, she went upstairs. That's when she noticed a room ransacked and numerous jewelry pieces and cash missing. The items taken include a 10-thousand dollar diamond wedding and engagement ring, earrings, assorted necklaces and about 15-hundred in cash. Detective Tyler Smith was called to the scene to collect evidence and begin the investigation.
