A Bowers Lane resident in Murfreesboro called the police when a contractor she hired failed to follow through on a recent project. According to the victim, she hired a man by the name of “Mike Leffingwell” to build a patio while she was out of town. The project was supposed to be complete by July 19, 2014. However, when she returned home the project was not finished.

The victim waited several days before contacting police. She evidently tried and tried to get a hold of Leffingwell, but no calls were ever returned. According to the police incident report, the victim paid Leffingwell over $3,000 in advance. The case has been labeled as a fraud.

This is not the first time the contractor has been in the news. On July 7th, we told you a story about a Southridge Subdivision resident who paid Leffingwell a $3,000 deposit on two separate projects adding up to a total of 6-grand. In that case, $6,000 worth of work was never finished.

All of the cases are still open and an arrest has not been made.
