Saturday Marketplace Is A "Happening Place"!

The Saturday Marketplace on the Murfreesboro square is noticeably getting more popular each week. Not only are the number of vendors who are offering farm-fresh produce, baked goods, local honey, flowers and plants along with other handmade items, but the number of shoppers is escalating as well.

One local resident described the marketplace as a living Norman Rockwell picture. It's full of true Americana that's missing in many communities.

The Saturday Marketplace is coordinated by Main Street Murfreesboro/Rutherford County and the Only Downtown Business Alliance (ODMA). It was created to encourage more persons to enjoy the unique feel of relaxing and stepping back to a time when stress was less and neighbors took time to know each other. That mood continues to live in the historic district of downtown Murfreesboro.

The Marketplace happens every Saturday morning from 8:00AM until noon through September. For more information, contact Main Street Murfreesboro/Rutherford County's Director Kathleen Herzog. at 615-895-1887 or e-mail
