Saturday Morning Fire…Severe Burns To Woman At 732 West Street

A Saturday morning tri-plex fire at 732 West Street has one woman hospitalized with severe burns to the lower half of her body. Charlie Simms, who is a resident in one of the other apartments, was able to pull the lady to safety. Reports indicate that her husband was already in the hospital for other reasons, and she was alone at the time. Quick response from the Murfreesboro Fire Department contained the fire to that one unit. However, due to smoke damage, the other two occupants are unable to stay. Assistant Fire Marshal Nora Smith is investigating the blaze.
