Barfield Elementary School had to be placed on a Code Yellow lock down Thursday after four home burglary suspects fled the long arm of the law. Needless to say, the break-in ended poorly for the suspects.

The incident occurred on Painted Pony Trail in a neighborhood behind the Sonic restaurant on South Church Street Thursday (4/27/17) around noon.

When police arrived, the four subjects ran from the area on foot leaving their Chevrolet Cobalt with a South Carolina tag behind.

One subject ran behind Mills Pharmacy to elude police. However, Murfreesboro Officers caught up to him and held him at gunpoint until backup units arrived and placed him in handcuffs.

A second subject ran into the parking lot of Waterford Place Apartments. That suspect was also caught by police after the short-lived foot pursuit.

Two more suspects were caught before they got out of the neighborhood.

Eluding police on foot along with burglary charges are pending.

Barfield School, which is county operated, lifted their lock down around 12:30 after getting the "All Clear" from police.
