School student from Oakland High School to participate in special U.S. Marine event

The United States Marine Corps is recognizing exemplary student athletes across the country through the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl. Now in its fourth year, the game will feature approximately 100 student athletes selected from across the country based on their athletic prowess, academic success and embodiment of the Marine Corps values of honor, courage and commitment.

Josh Smith, from Oakland High School is among those selected to participate in this year's nationally televised Semper Fidelis All- American Bowl. The game will be played on January 4, 2015, at The StubHub Center in Carson, Calif.

Through the Semper Fidelis Football Program, the Marine Corps engages with well-rounded student athletes to share leadership lessons that will enable future success.

Josh Smith will be recognized at a local jersey presentation in the near future. Our local Marine Corps representative is available to talk about the Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl and the jersey presentations.
